In early 1997 we found our first alpaca farm location just east of the city of Calgary, Alberta, on a hill overlooking the city and the Rocky Mountains to the west. With gentle sweeping pastures and tall evergreen trees, we started our journey into the wonderful world of Alpacas. We researched all different types of livestock and after numerous on-farm visits we were hooked on the gentle nature of the Alpacas.
We purchased our first two 'Practice Pacas' and our farm was born. Their charming temperament and willingness to learn filled many hours of pasture time. We have found that their ability and patience to work with untrained owners enriched our life and led us to develop our own routines and yet they still show us new tricks everyday.
In late 2009, in order to accommodate the needs of our growing herd, we relocated to a larger, more centrally located farm in Arden Manitoba. Our new facility is proving to be everything we hoped it would be in accommodating our current herd of over 250 alpacas.
We are proud of our Alpacas and we work hard at promoting them and the lifestyle they provide us. We know they are not right for everyone, so when we talk with potential clients, we discuss honestly what is involved, not only financially but physically and emotionally as well. At Evergreen Acres we continue to expand our herd and our goal is to provide a wholesome and healthy environment for our Alpacas.
We were first time purchasers not that long ago and we know what we expected and also know what out clients expect from us - Honesty, Value, Education and Integrity. We offer a written guarantee with every Alpaca we sell and make ourselves available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer any questions and assist with any problems.
